      | A beautiful August day, I rode to Lomeshaye Village to
check out | | the exact location of 2BR, where I have an interview
tomorrow. I | | always find Lomeshaye Village charming, as these
        pictures show |

      | | | | | |

      | exterior view of 2BR studios.
I wonder what this architecture was originally? | | Behind the building this spectacular chimney towers up
into the sky - see the birds? | | I enlarged this section to show them more clearly,
looking just like a squadron of airplanes |

      | | | | | |

      | I couldn't believe how pretty
these almshouses are - I wonder what it takes | |  to be able to move into one of
these enchanted dwellings? | | Crossing the canal by the little-used bridge, I made my
way to Pendle Village Mill, |

      | | | | | |

      | looking back at this very pretty stretch of the
Leeds-Liverpool canal | | and passing this masterpiece of Victorian engineering on
the way. | | PVM's Italianate courtyard is reminiscent of the Piece
        Hall at Halifax. |

      | I found it difficult to photograph as it is
down in a kind of well. | | This picture shows the central fountain, surely it
could manage a more spectacular cascade? | | The canal festival will be held in this
courtyard, which is just crying out to be filled |

      | | | | | |

      | with all human life - it would make a perfect
setting for a mediaeval fair | | with jugglers, swordplay, dirt, dust, chickens
and horses, as well as colourful stalls | | These are the entrance gates with steps leading
down on two sides - grand entrance for a parade |

      | | | | | |

      | going up the slope at the back are some
splendid views of Pendle | | taken from further up the slope the
courtyard disappears | | same shot zoomed in over the unattractive
roof but with Pendle looking good as usual. |
